Introduction

 Overview

The InnoAIQA-VN project aims to empower educational leaders and management staff in higher education institutions (HEIs) across Vietnam to effectively integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into quality assurance (QA) processes. By leveraging AI-driven innovations, the project seeks to enhance institutional performance, foster the ethical adoption of AI, and establish sustainable professional networks that champion innovation in QA management.

Objectives
The primary goal of InnoAIQA-VN is to equip HEI leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to transform QA practices in alignment with Vietnam’s unique educational context and the global drive toward sustainable development.

  • General Objective:
To enable HEIs to adopt AI in QA systems, enhancing institutional effectiveness and preparing Vietnam’s higher education sector for global challenges and opportunities.

  • Specific Objectives:
The training program is tailored for middle- and senior-level management staff from HEIs, including:

    • Deans, department heads, and directors in central administrative units overseeing quality assurance, accreditation, and institutional research.
    • Quality assurance managers and officers responsible for designing and implementing QA frameworks and processes.

Participant Selection Criteria
To align with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), participants are selected based on the following criteria:

  1. Institutional Diversity (SDG 4: Quality Education):
Participants will be drawn from 7 to 10 HEIs, with a maximum of 3 participants per institution. This approach ensures a diverse mix of perspectives from both public and private institutions, fostering a collaborative learning environment and promoting inclusive QA practices.

  2. Gender Equity (SDG 5: Gender Equality):
The program prioritizes the participation of women, especially those in leadership roles, supporting gender equality and empowering women to lead innovations in QA and education management.

  3. Regional Inclusion (SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities):
HEIs from underserved regions, including central, mountainous, and highland provinces, are given priority. These institutions often face challenges such as limited access to AI and digital resources. The initiative addresses these disparities, contributing to equitable development in higher education.

  4. Commitment to Sustainability and Technology (SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure):
Participants must demonstrate a commitment to improving QA practices and possess a basic understanding of AI or a willingness to learn. This ensures readiness to integrate cutting-edge technology into QA management for long-term institutional improvement.

Impact
The InnoAIQA-VN project will:

  • Develop AI-integrated QA frameworks tailored to the Vietnamese context.
  • Build a community of practice among HEI leaders, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Promote ethical and sustainable use of AI in higher education.

Through this initiative, Vietnam’s HEIs will be better positioned to achieve their strategic goals and contribute to the global agenda of sustainable development in education.
