[InnoAIQA-VN Project] Workshop 1: Applying Artificial Intelligence in Quality Assurance for Higher Education

 On the morning of November 26, 2025, the Center for Education Quality Accreditation – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City solemnly opened Workshop 1 under the InnoAIQA-VN Project, themed “Artificial Intelligence Application in Quality Assurance for Higher Education.”

Workshop 1 marks the beginning of a series of capacity-building activities for quality assurance managers within the project “Artificial Intelligence Application in Quality Assurance for Higher Education (InnoAIQA-VN),” funded by DAAD under the DIES – National Multiplication Training (NMT) program.
The project aims to support Vietnamese universities in adopting new tools, new mindsets, and modern quality assurance models in the digital transformation era.

The event welcomed the participation of Ms. Xia Qin – NMT Program Coordinator, Center for Quality Development, University of Potsdam, along with 20 representatives who are quality assurance and management staff from 9 universities across Vietnam, stretching from the North to the South.
The diversity in academic disciplines—from engineering, medicine, and pharmacy to economics and multi-disciplinary institutions—painted a vivid picture of the need for innovation and commitment to quality development in higher education.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Hồ Đắc Hải Miên, MSc – Deputy Director of the Center for Education Quality Accreditation – VNU-HCM and Project Leader of InnoAIQA-VN, emphasized that AI is creating profound changes in education, requiring universities not only to update processes or tools but, more importantly, to transform mindsets and strengthen the capacity of quality assurance personnel.
She also acknowledged the proactive, serious, and eager-to-learn attitude of participating institutions.

Throughout the three working days, management staff joined training sessions on:

  • Applying AI in needs analysis and forecasting labor market trends;

  • Developing learning outcomes based on OBE;

  • Designing program frameworks, course structures, syllabi, examinations, rubrics, and digital learning materials;

  • Improving research quality;

  • Analyzing graduate outcome data;

  • Developing chatbots to support quality assurance monitoring;

  • Analyzing Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) and External Evaluation Reports (EQA).

The InnoAIQA-VN Project is expected to form a professional community network in AI-enabled quality assurance, promote best practices, and support universities in gradually building intelligent, sustainable IQA systems aligned with the needs of modern higher education.
The collaboration among DAAD, the University of Potsdam, the Center for Education Quality Accreditation – VNU-HCM, and Vietnamese universities is a crucial foundation for the success of Workshop 1 and the entire project.
